We cordially invite you to participate in the 10th International Symposium „Activation of Dioxygen and Homogeneous Catalytic Oxidation“ (ADHOC 2008), to be held in Venice, Italy, from July 20 to July 25, 2008. ADHOC conferences are held every three years, and the last four  ADHOCs took place in Atlanta, USA (2002), York, UK (1999),  Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands (1996) and Köln, Germany (2005). In previous years, conference attendance was typically ca. 300 scientists from all around the world.

ADHOC is the internationally leading conference on the activation of molecular oxygen towards substrate oxidation, and on homogeneous oxidation catalysis in general. New catalysts, new oxidants, new methods for catalytic oxidation, ranging from bleaching to the stereoselective oxy-functionalization of valuable synthetic intermediates, new mechanistic insights into oxidative processes, and many other subjects related to oxidation are typical topics for ADHOC conferences.

ADHOC is the number one forum for interaction between academic and industrial research on homogeneous oxidation catalysis. The conference will feature plenary lectures (ca. 50 min), invited lectures (ca. 30 min) oral communications (ca. 20 min), as well as two poster sessions. As in earlier ADHOC conferences, the ADHOC 2008 conference in Venice will feature world leading scientists active in the various disciplines of oxidation catalysis, and will at the same time be a forum for younger students, especially on the Ph.D. level, to present their own research in the stimulating environment of this world-class conference. For the support of younger scientists, it is expected that a number of travel grants will be available.

The meeting will be held in San Servolo island located in Venice, Italy in  July 20-25, 2008.
