Giotto by night Tuesday, August 31st 2010 at 21.30 Guided evening visit to the famous Giotto frescoes in the Scrovegni Chapel in Padova. The visit will last half an hour, of which 15 minutes will be spent in an air-conditioned waiting room and 15 minutes visiting the frescoes. This visit has to be booked by June 30th due to the large number of people visiting the Chapel. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Rate per person: 20.00€. Palladio in Vicenza - half day Thursday, September 2nd Excursion by bus to visit Villa Capra (known as “La Rotonda”) and the Olympic Theatre in Vicenza. Departure at 14.00 in front of the Mantegna Hotel (via Niccolò Tommaseo 55, Padova). Return by 19.00. |

Wine road excursion and visit to Arquà Petrarca - half day Thursday, September 2nd Departure by bus at 14.00 in front of the Mantegna Hotel (via Niccolò Tommaseo 55, Padova). The trip will take participants to Arquà Petraraca to visit the historical centre and Petrarca’s home and to some of the charming villages in the Euganean Hills, including a stop at a winery to have a taste of the local wine and of some typical products. Return by 19.00. |

The excursion to Venice will be by coach and then by private boat from Tronchetto to the island of Murano to see an original glassblowing kiln still in use. |

Murano will be followed by the island of Burano, where the famous brightly-coloured houses of fishermen and producers of lace and needle-point work are huddled around its unmistakeable crooked bell tower. After free time for lunch, the trip continues to St. Mark's Square, whose points of special interest include the famous Basilica, the Torre dei Mori and the Bridge of Sighs. |

There will still be some free time left for shopping and then back to the Tronchetto in the late afternoon cruising down the Giudecca canal. Finally the visitors will return to Padova by coach in time for dinner. |
