Scienze Molecolari / Molecular Sciences

The Graduate Course in Molecular Sciences (Corso di Dottorato in Scienze Molecolari – CDSM) offers the highest level of formation in the field of molecular sciences at the University of Padova. The Collegio dei Docenti is mainly constituted of members of the Departments of Chemical Sciences (DiSC) and Pharmaceutical Sciences (DSF), complemented by members from CNR (IENI) and the Department of Biology. An external advisory board composed of prof. Chris Hunter (University of Cambridge, UK), prof. Avelino Corma (Polytechnical University of Valencia, Spain), prof. Francoise Remacle (University of Liege, B) and prof. Cameron Alexander (University of Nottingham, UK) serves as independent external guarantees for the quality of the training program. The ambition of CDSM is to prepare PhD-students in the best possible way for high-level research jobs in the field of chemical and pharmaceutical sciences in industry and academics. The formation of the students is based on two pillars: research and training.

Admission 2017

On 1 June 2017 the call for admission to the Graduate Course in Molecular Sciences at the University of Padova has been published. A total of 19 positions are available of which 16 with a scholarship. The admission procedure -based on an evaluation of the CV, written examination and oral examination- is used to create a ranking of the candidates. Starting from the top, candidates are free to choose the supervisor until all available positions are occupied. Two positions with scholarship are reserved for candidates with a degree from a non-Italian university, which follow a different admission procedure.

The following candidates are eligible for application:

1.Students with a degree (laurea specialistica/magistrale/ciclo unico) in chemistry, industrial chemistry, materials science, biotechnology, chemistry and pharmaceutical technology, pharmacy. The course is also open to students with a background in scientific disciplines such as biology, physics, mathematics, who are interested in acquiring a PhD-degree in the field of Molecular Sciences.
2.Students of the abovementioned areas that will obtain a degree (laurea specialistica/magistrale/ciclo unico) within 30 September 2017, which is the starting date of the PhD-course.
3.Students in the possession of a degree in the abovementioned areas obtained at a non-Italian university or that will obtain such a degree within 30 September 2017. These candidates will follow a different admission procedure.
