The 3-year PH.D. COURSE in MOLECULAR SCIENCES (MS) at the University of Padova, offers highly competitive Ph.D. programmes in the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Material Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Upon joining a research group, students at MS can obtain advice on research, course selection, and career planning from advanced students in the research group as well as from the thesis adviser. Other requirements, including course work, written and oral examinations, seminars, and teaching, are intended to broaden the student's exposure to chemistry and to aid in developing the essential skills of oral and written scientific communication. Scholarships are provided by

The MS course was started in 2005, resulting from the merge of the Doctoral Courses of Chemical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences, both active since 1984.  The MS is strongly committed to excellence in education and research in chemical sciences as well as exploring the connections between chemistry and the other natural sciences. In the period ranging from 2005 to 2013, 170 PhD students, uniformly distributed among the active research group of the departments of Chemical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences were enrolled at MS.

Every academic year the Course makes available a number of Ph.D. positions to candidates from the People’s Republic of China. within an agreement with the China Scholarship Council (CSC). Additional openings are available for candidates from the PRC through standard yearly selection procedures, held by the University of Padova.
