Satoshi Watanabe

Satoshi Watanabe is a professor of Department of Materials Engineering, The University of Tokyo. He received the B.S. degree in Physics in 1984, the M.S. degree in Physics in 1986, and the Ph.D. degree in Physics in 1989 from The University of Tokyo. After working at Aono Atomcraft project, Research Development Corporation of Japan (now Japan Science and Technology Agency) from 1989 to 1994 and at the Advanced Research Laboratory, Hitachi Ltd. from 1994 to 1997, he joined The University of Tokyo in 1997 as an associate professor. Then he was promoted to a professor in 2004. He is also serving as Director of Center for International Affairs, School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo, and the editor-in-chief of e-Journal of Surface Science and Nanotechnology.
