Nov 1981:  Laurea in Chemistry (110/110 cum  Laude).  University of Padova. Thesis title: “Interaction between gastrin peptides and calcium ions”.  Supervisor:  Prof. Evaristo Peggion.

He received the “Prof. Silvio Bezzi” gold medal assigned to the best graduate in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry of the University of Padova in the academic year 1980-81.

Sep 1982 - Jul 1985:  Postgraduate Research Chemist, Department of Chemistry, University of California at San Diego.

Sep 1985 - Oct 1992:  Researcher, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, first at the Research Center on Organic Reaction Mechanisms in Padova, and then at the Biopolymers Research Center in Padova.

Feb 1988:  Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. Thesis title: “Conformational studies on gastrin peptides”.

Nov 1992 - Mar 2001:  Associate Professor in Industrial and Polymer Chemistry.

Apr 2001 - present:  Full Professor in Industrial Chemistry.

Jan 2002: INNOVATEC Guest Professor, Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy, University of Regensburg (Germany).
