Business and Networking
The Department of Chemical Sciences collaborates with companies, public bodies and individuals in various forms. For example:
Develops research projects commissioned by external customers and carries out research activities funded or co-funded by external entities;
Provides services, which typically include consultancy and/or analysis, tests and experiments on materials, commercial products, prototype or commercial devices of interest to the external body, literature and patent searches ('technology watch');
On request, it can design, develop and prepare new compounds and/or materials with targeted properties;
Carries out continuing education activities for employees of companies and external bodies (e.g. courses, lecture series, seminars on topics of interest to the company).
Research and service activities for external bodies are regulated by contracts or agreements stipulated with the Department, naturally guaranteeing compatibility with the other functions of the structure, in particular teaching and research. The contracts explicitly identify the scientific contact person or the coordinator of the activities among the personnel belonging to the Department.
